Isaac Ayomide Olayiwola, known by his stage name Layi Wasabi, was born on July 11, 1998, in Osogbo, Osun State, Nigeria.

Layi was up in the culturally rich city of Osogbo, which is famous for its traditional tie-dye manufacture. His father died when Layi was only two years old, leaving his mother to raise him with the help of other family members. Layi attributes his sense of humour to his mother as the source of his comedic talent.
