Laura Okmin is an American reporter who works for FOX’s NFL. She joined Fox Sports Network in 2002 and began her career there as a reporter, anchor, and host. During her time at FOX, she had a variety of positions.

She is now working as an NFL reporter for FOX, as well as appearing on both FOX NFL SUNDAY and FOX NFL KICKOFF broadcasts. She has also interviewed and covered the great personalities over the last two decades, including MLB All-Star Games, several NBA finals, two Olympics, ten Super Bowls, and the World Series.

Okmin was born on June 10th, 1969, and raised in Kansas City, Missouri. She is the daughter of the late Lynne Okmin, who died of cancer some years ago. Laura also developed a book-based narrative to honor her mother. Laura Okmin graduated from the University of Kansas with a journalism degree.

She began her television career in Montgomery as a sports anchor or reporter for a Chicago-based sports station, where she had to travel with the Chicago Bulls during their championship run. During her session in Chicago, she was awarded the Chicago Midwest Emmy for Outstanding Achievement in Sports for reporting the events alone.

Career

Laura Okmin worked as an AFC reporter for FOX Sports from 2018 to 2019. She formerly provided commentary for Westwood One’s NFL Thursday Night and Monday Night. Laura hosted FoxSports.com and covered the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, as well as the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi. She has worked as a feature reporter for the Orange and Fiesta BCS Bowl Games.

Okmin started with LO Productions while working on PROfiles, a 30-minute series in which she introduced NFL personalities off the field. The show is broadcast on FSN. She hosted a series of the show, served as executive producer, secured VIZIO as the title sponsor, and wrote each episode.

Okmin formerly worked for TNT/TBS Sports from 2002 to 2003, hosting Braves and Thrashers games while also reporting on NBA playoffs. She spent five years with CNN as a reporter and host anchor. From 1997 to 2002, she anchored shows such as Page One, CNN Morning News, CNN Early Edition, and NBA Today, all of which were aired daily on CNN and CNNSI.
