LaLiga: Akor Adams rues Sevilla slump after Real Oviedo defeat

Akor Adams has admitted Sevilla must “reset” after their latest setback, a defeat to Real Oviedo that deepens their relegation concerns.
Adams featured for the full 90 minutes but was unable to influence the outcome, missing key opportunities as Sevilla slipped to another disappointing result.
“The result was a shame. It wasn’t what we had prepared with the new manager, and we have to reset and forget this result as soon as possible,” he said.
The loss leaves Sevilla 17th in the table after a five-game winless run, intensifying pressure with the season entering its final stretch.

Red card compounds struggles
Sevilla’s task was made more difficult after Tanguy Nianzou was sent off in the 38th minute, forcing the team to play the majority of the match with 10 men.
Despite the controversial nature of the decision, Adams refused to shift blame onto officiating.
“We didn’t lose because of the referees, but we had several incidents went against us,” he added.
Relegation threat looming
With just eight matches remaining, Sevilla are now firmly in a relegation battle, requiring immediate improvement to secure survival in La Liga.
Attention turns to a crucial fixture against Atletico Madrid, where a positive result will be crucial for the side.
