LaLiga: Akor Adams praises Sevilla fans after Atletico win

Akor Adams has credited fans support and unity within Sevilla after scoring in their 2-1 victory over Atlético Madrid in the La Liga.
The Nigerian forward opened the scoring from the penalty spot, setting Sevilla on course for a vital result following a turbulent week marked by supporter unrest.
Adams inspires response
Adams’ early goal ended his three-match drought and took his league tally to eight for the season, underlining his growing importance as Sevilla battle to move clear of relegation danger.
Reflecting on the performance, he said: “All the energy of the club, the fans, and the players transformed into a positive atmosphere for this match. We gave 100% and achieved our objective, which was the three points.”

Sevilla had come into the game under pressure after a defeat to Real Oviedo, which triggered fan protests and confrontations involving players. Despite that backdrop, Adams emphasised the role of supporters inside the stadium.
“The fans’ support has been incredible, it’s given us a lot of energy. We play for them and if we’re all like this, we’ll be happy every week.”
Key contributions across the pitch
Adams also highlighted the collective effort behind the win, pointing to strong performances across the team.
“I had practiced it in training. I had the confidence of all my teammates. Everyone played a good game… we all achieved our goal.”
Atlético responded before half-time, but a decisive strike from Nemanja Gudelj restored Sevilla’s lead and secured all three points.
