Controversies or Public Opinion

Laide Bakare and fellow actress Eniola Badmus had a falling out at a movie premiere in 2025. Both actresses attended the debut of Eniola Ajao’s film “Owambe Thieves” in April 2025 at Circle Mall in Lekki, Lagos State.

The two women were seen arguing loudly and causing a disturbance at the event. A day after the event, Laide took to Instagram to post some private messages between herself and Eniola.

In the message, Eniola chastised Laide for uploading a photo of herself where she “doesn’t look well”, labelling the action as “animalistic behaviour”.

Laide’s caption on the post accused Eniola of being an ungrateful person, alleging that she provided Eniola with her first major part.

Laide Bakare Husband

Laide Bakare is now married to Alhaji Mutairu Atanda Orilowo. This is her second marriage, as her first with US-based businessman Olumide Okufulure failed.

Her first marriage to Olumide Okufulure ended in 2012, after she discovered he had a hidden wife and two children. Laide, who believed Okufulure was a single man, subsequently realised that he was still legally married to a wife and two children while they were still married.

Later in 2015, Laide denied ever being married to Olumide Okufulure. According to her, they were not married but rather in a relationship that did not work out.

Olumide quickly responded to the allegations, claiming that they were officially married in court and that she was his only legal wife. He went on to accuse Laide of infidelity and demanded a DNA test for their only daughter.

Laide Bakare allegedly began seeing her second spouse, Alhaji Mutairu Atanda Orilowo, in 2012, the same year she divorced Okufulure.

The new couple married in 2013, and they had children. Laide later confessed that she had met Alhaji Orilowo in Saudi Arabia when she was younger.

Laide Bakare Children

The actress has three children from two marriages. She has a daughter, Similoliwa Okufulure, with Olumide Okufulure, and two sons, Oluwadamilare Orilowo and Oluwajomiloju Abdul-Samad Orilowo, with Alhaji Orilowo.

On September 3, 2008, Laide Bakare gave birth to her first daughter, Simi, who is now 17 years old. Oluwadamire, her first son, was born on May 31, 2013, followed by Oluwajomiloju in October 2014.

She gave birth to all three of her children in New York City, USA.
