Lady shares pain after being overlooked in sister’s graduation speech

A Nigerian woman shares how she was not acknowledged by her younger sister during a graduation ceremony, despite funding her education for four years.
In a detailed post, the woman explained that she took on the financial responsibility of her sister’s schooling shortly after getting her first job, ensuring that fees were paid consistently even during difficult periods.
She revealed that she made personal sacrifices, sometimes going without proper meals, just to ensure her sister lacked nothing throughout her academic journey.
However, during the graduation ceremony, the sister reportedly thanked several people, including God, their parents, friends, and lecturers, but made no mention of her.
The moment, she said, left her deeply hurt, though she chose not to react immediately. Months later, she brought it up calmly, and her sister apologized, claiming she had been overwhelmed and nervous during the speech.
Reflecting on the experience, the woman noted that silent sacrifices can often go unnoticed, leading to hidden resentment.
She advised people to communicate their efforts rather than assume they will be recognized, adding that appreciation plays a crucial role in maintaining healthy relationships.
