Lady questions why women get harsher treatment in marital affairs, says it’s not fair

A Nigerian lady has sparked discussions online after sharing her thoughts on how women are treated in relationships when infidelity occurs.

The post, shared by a user identified as @Aduradara61049 on X (formerly Twitter), has since gone viral.

Double Standards in Affairs

The lady highlighted the apparent double standards in how men and women are treated when caught cheating.

She pointed out that if a woman is caught in an affair, the consequences are often severe and sometimes irreversible.

Leniency for Men

She contrasted this with how men are treated in similar situations, noting that women often try to preserve the marriage even when their husbands are unfaithful.

Alleged Family Bias

According to her, families also tend to defend men more than women in such circumstances.

In her words:

“If your husband catches you in an affair, the marriage is over. Even your own family will not beg on your behalf. If you catch your husband in an affair, most women would end up staying. Even your own family would beg on his behalf. Why??”
