Lady criticizes police over handling of theft report

A Nigerian lady has taken to social media to express frustration over how officers of the Nigeria Police Force handled her theft complaint.
According to her account, she reported the loss of her phone and laptop at a police station and was asked whether she suspected anyone in her residential compound.
After mentioning an individual she believed could be linked to the incident, she alleged that officers questioned the suspect and later revealed that she had identified him.
The woman questioned why her identity was not kept confidential, expressing concern about potential repercussions since she lives in the same compound as the suspect.
Her words …
“The Nigerian police have no idea what confidential informant is because tell me why my gadgets, my phone, my laptop were stolen and I came to the police station to report and you, that is a policeman or inspector or whatever, you asked me. If I have anybody I’m suspecting in my compound, I feel like could be associated with the theft. And I told you, yes, that there’s this one person that I’m suspecting. You went to go and question that person. And after everything, you not tell the person that I was the one that said he’s the thief. Are you not supposed to keep me anonymous? If that person come back home with me for compound, what do you think is going to happen?”
