Lady accuses man who saved her life at work of sexual harassment
A workplace incident has sparked debate online after a man who helped save a colleague from choking was later reported to human resources for alleged sexual harassment.
The man, described by coworkers as quiet but friendly, had reportedly rushed to help the lady during a lunch break at their workplace about two months ago.
According to accounts shared online, the lady suddenly began choking on her food during the meal, causing panic among those present.
Rescue Turns Into HR Complaint
Witnesses said the man quickly stepped in and performed a choking rescue technique to help her breathe again.
The method involved standing behind the person, placing arms around the stomach area, and applying inward and upward pressure to force the obstruction out.
After several attempts, the food was dislodged and the woman was able to breathe again, prompting relief and applause from those around them.
The man reportedly asked if she was okay. She nodded but quickly rushed to the bathroom without saying much.
Two days later, however, he was called in by the company’s human resources department.
According to the report, the same colleague had filed a complaint claiming the physical contact during the rescue made her uncomfortable.
She alleged that the man’s body was too close during the incident and said she felt his private area while he was helping her.
Investigation Clears Employee
The allegation triggered a formal workplace investigation that lasted about a week.
During that time, the man continued working while the human resources department reviewed the situation.
At the end of the investigation, the company reportedly cleared him of any wrongdoing.
Despite being exonerated, the incident changed how he interacted with the colleague.
Relationship Between Colleagues Changes
The man reportedly began keeping his distance from her and limited conversations to only work-related matters.
He also stopped including her in casual social interactions with other colleagues.
The woman later apologised and explained that she had reacted the way she did because of past trauma.
However, the man chose to maintain his distance, saying he was simply protecting himself from future misunderstandings.
