La Liga: Sevilla open door for Adams exit

Spanish side Sevilla are reportedly prepared to part ways with Nigerian striker Akor Adams this summer despite his impressive performances during the just-concluded campaign.

The Super Eagles forward enjoyed a breakthrough season after joining the club from Montpellier HSC in January 2025, emerging as one of Sevilla’s key players in a difficult season.

Adams scored 10 goals and provided three assists in 32 La Liga appearances, playing a major role in helping the club retain its place in Spain’s top flight.

Financial concerns drive Sevilla plans

Despite the striker’s strong performances, Sevilla are said to be willing to sanction his departure as they seek to balance their finances ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.

La Liga: Sevilla open door for Adams exit

According to reports in Spain, the club has already informed Adams of its position as it looks to raise funds and comply with Financial Fair Play regulations.

The 26-year-old’s impressive form has increased his value in the transfer market, making him one of the club’s most attractive assets for potential buyers.

His performances have also attracted attention from clubs across Europe, with interest continuing to grow as the transfer window approaches.

Ligue 1 return among possible options

A return to France has been mentioned as a possible destination for the Nigerian international.

Reports have linked Adams with Olympique de Marseille, with the Ligue 1 side believed to be monitoring his situation closely.

While Sevilla appear open to selling the striker, Adams is reportedly keen to remain at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán Stadium and continue his development in Spanish football.

However, the former Montpellier forward is also understood to be open to a move if the right opportunity arises.

Future yet to be decided

Adams now faces an uncertain summer as discussions over his future continue.

Any potential transfer would need to satisfy Sevilla’s financial expectations while also meeting the player’s sporting ambitions.
