Kompany pens new Bayern deal until 2029
Bayern Munich have officially confirmed that head coach Vincent Kompany has signed a two-year contract extension, keeping him at the club until 2029.
The Belgian tactician’s previous deal was due to expire in 2027, but following Bayern’s flawless start to the 2025/26 campaign, the club opted to secure his long-term future.
Kompany delighted with new deal
Reacting to the extension, Kompany expressed gratitude for the club’s confidence and support.
“I’m grateful, honoured and would like to thank FC Bayern for the trust and the working environment they’ve given me from day one.
“It feels like I’ve been here a lot longer and that I know the club well. It’s been a great experience so far. We’ve started on a wonderful journey. Let’s keep working hard and celebrate much more success!”
Bayern’s dominance under Kompany
Since taking charge from Burnley in summer 2024, Kompany has re-established Bayern’s domestic dominance.
The Bavarians currently boast a 100% record in all competitions and sit five points clear at the top of the Bundesliga after their 2-1 win over Borussia Dortmund last weekend.
