“Killings in Jos meant to embarrass Tinubu on birthday” — Cubana ChiefPriest

Popular Nigerian socialite Cubana ChiefPriest has reacted to the recent killings in Jos, alleging that the attacks were orchestrated to embarrass President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his birthday.

In a statement shared on social media, the celebrity expressed outrage over the violence, lamenting the rising insecurity in the region and the traumatic impact of a viral video showing a woman and her child caught in the crisis.

The incident has triggered renewed concerns over safety in Plateau State, with residents calling for urgent government intervention.

Outrage over killings, leadership concerns

In the past few days, the video of that woman and her child cannot get out of my head. When will these killings stop? How do people find happiness in taking lives? I feel deeply for everyone in Jos,” he said.

The governor arriving in a bunker raises questions. Does it mean everyone should now live in fear? Leadership requires courage and sacrifice. Those in authority must be ready to lay down their lives for the people they serve,” he added.

Allegation of political motive

The socialite further suggested that the timing of the attacks was suspicious, linking it to the President’s birthday while calling on security agencies to improve their response.

This was clearly done to embarrass the President on his birthday. Security agencies must rise to the occasion. Allowing such incidents reflects poorly on leadership. I pray for strength for the President to appoint capable hands,” he said.

Jos and parts of Plateau have witnessed repeated communal clashes over the years, notably in 2023, leaving dozens dead and many displaced.
