Kane shuts down Barcelona links, reassures Bayern over future

Harry Kane has effectively closed the door on any potential move to Barcelona, despite growing speculation during the international break.

The Bayern Munich striker, whose contract runs until 2027, made it clear he is settled in Bavaria, even though renewal talks have not yet begun.

Kane: No contact, no concerns

Reports in Spain suggested Barcelona had identified Kane as their top transfer target for next summer, viewing him as the ideal balance between affordability and elite output.

But speaking to BILD, as relayed by Diario AS, Kane dismissed the noise around a Camp Nou switch.

“I haven’t had any contact with anyone. No one has contacted me,” he said. “I feel very comfortable in the current situation, although we haven’t yet spoken with Bayern about my situation.”

Bayern are expected to initiate renewal discussions after the winter transfer window, believing they will be in a stronger negotiating position at that point.

Kane reportedly has a €65m release clause active in January, though its specifics remain unclear.

‘Very unlikely’: Kane dismisses 2026 exit talk

The England captain went further, reassuring Bayern supporters that a departure is not on the horizon.

“There’s no rush. I’m really happy in Munich. You can see it in the way I play,” Kane said. “I’m not thinking about next season. There’s a World Cup in the summer first. And it’s very unlikely that anything will change after this season.”

Asked directly if Bayern fans should be worried, his response was blunt: “No, I don’t think so.”

Barcelona’s striker plan takes a hit

Barcelona had reportedly earmarked Kane as the most realistic successor to Robert Lewandowski, a proven, high-output forward without the prohibitive cost of a younger elite striker.

With the club still operating under restrictive salary-cap conditions, the 32-year-old was viewed as the optimal blend of experience, availability, and financial feasibility.
