Just In: Queen Elizabeth II dies at 96
An official statement released by the palace disclosed that the Queen passed on peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon.
It reads:
“The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon. The King and The Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow”
An official period of mourning was observed earlier today in the United Kingdom, whereby flags were lowered at half-mast to observe a minute of silence.
The Queen is survived by her 4 children, 8 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
Her 4 children are; Prince Charles, the Prince of Wales, Princess Anne, Princess Royal, Prince Andrew, the Duke of York, and Prince Edward, the Earl of Wessex.
