JUST IN: Lookman heads to Spain for Atlético Madrid medical

Ademola Lookman has left Italy to undergo medical tests ahead of his proposed move from Atalanta to Atlético Madrid.

The Nigeria international was absent from Atalanta’s Serie A fixture against Como on Sunday and was later spotted at Bergamo Airport preparing to fly to the Spanish capital.

Deal agreed between clubs

Atalanta confirmed an agreement with Atlético Madrid earlier on Sunday, clearing the way for Lookman to complete the move.

The transfer is valued at €40 million, including add-ons, with the Spanish side meeting Atalanta’s preferred terms.

Medicals next step

Lookman is expected to undergo medical examinations in Madrid before finalising the transfer. Barring any late issues, the forward will become an Atlético Madrid player once the formalities are completed.
