This video gave birth to the now-iconic Nigerian slogan, “They didn’t catch me,” in response to his encounter with Nigerian police. His subsequent arrest, along with others, for homosexuality resulted in a month in the Ikoyi Correctional Facility.

James Chukwueze Obialor was born on February 22, 1999, in Lagos, Nigeria’s bustling Mushin neighbourhood. Despite his Igbo origin, he can speak fluently in Yoruba. Gracious Brown, whose real name is Gracious Obialor, is the well-known sister of James Brown, a notable Nigerian cross-dresser, and traces his heritage back to Imo State, Nigeria.
James Brown had his primary and secondary school in Nigeria and proceeded to a British University for his tertiary studies but dropped out because of funds.
