Iwobi reaches century as Fulham win Stoke City in FA Cup title charge

Alex Iwobi marked his 100th appearance for Fulham as the Premier League side came from behind to defeat Stoke City and reach the FA Cup fifth round.

Fulham overturned a first-half deficit at the bet365 Stadium, ending a run of three consecutive defeats in all competitions with a 2-1 victory.

Stoke strike first

The Championship side opened the scoring in the 19th minute when midfielder Jun-Ho Bae finished emphatically from inside the area after a sweeping move involving Eric Bocat.

Stoke threatened again through Sorba Thomas, whose crisp half-volley from distance forced a save from goalkeeper Benjamin Lecomte.

Tommy Simkin then produced two strong stops before the break to deny Brazilian winger Kevin, while Iwobi headed wide from close range.

The hosts nearly doubled their advantage early in the second half when Lamine Cisse saw his curling effort tipped onto the post by Lecomte.

Fulham turn the tide

Fulham responded in the 55th minute as Kevin drove into the penalty area and drilled a low shot past Simkin to level the score.

Manager Marco Silva introduced Raul Jimenez and Emile Smith Rowe as the visitors increased the pressure.

The decisive moment came six minutes from time. Simkin attempted to play out from the back but misplaced his pass inside the box.

Harrison Reed intercepted and calmly slotted home his second goal of the season, and his first in the FA Cup, to complete the comeback.

Both Silva and Stoke manager Mark Robins had rotated their squads following midweek league fixtures.

Iwobi, the only survivor from Fulham’s recent defeat to Manchester City, reached his milestone appearance as the London club progressed in only the second FA Cup meeting between the two sides.
