EPL: Iwobi disappointed after Fulham’s 5-4 loss to Man City

Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi says Fulham left Craven Cottage with “nothing to show” for their fightback despite a spirited second-half performance in the 5-4 defeat to Manchester City.
Marco Silva’s side entered the fixture on the back of consecutive wins for the first time this season, but they were blown apart early in the second half as City raced to a 5-1 lead by the 55th minute.
Iwobi, Chukwueze spark late resurgence
Iwobi dragged Fulham back into the contest two minutes later, placing a low drive past Gianluigi Donnarumma before Samuel Chukwueze stepped up to deliver another standout performance.
The AC Milan loanee came off the bench to score twice, taking his tally to four goal involvements in his last three Premier League matches as Fulham pushed hard for an unlikely comeback.

Iwobi admitted the team’s resilience gave him mixed emotions. “I feel disappointed because we didn’t get anything out of the fighting spirit we showed,” he said via Fulham’s official website.
“We showed that spirit in the second half, but unfortunately, there’s nothing to show for it.”
Fans energised Fulham’s push
Iwobi praised the Craven Cottage atmosphere, which he said played a major role in Fulham’s response.
“We fed off the fans, it was as if we had a 12th member on the pitch,” he said. “They gave us the energy to attack.”
He also credited individual training work with coach Colin Omogbehin for his well-taken goal.
Iwobi hails ‘Chukwu-magic’
The midfielder reserved special praise for Chukwueze, who has instantly become a fan favourite.
“His nickname at the training ground is Chukwu-magic… he pulls off crazy stuff,” Iwobi said. “As long as he stays consistent, we’ll always back him.”
Focus shifts to Crystal Palace
Fulham now look ahead to their upcoming London derby against FA Cup champions Crystal Palace.
“We’ll analyse ourselves and analyse Palace,” Iwobi said. “It’s another opportunity to play right, so hopefully we get something against them.”
