‘I’ve brought back discipline to my life’ – Rashford reveals at Barcelona unveiling

Marcus Rashford has been officially presented as a Barcelona player following his loan switch from Manchester United, with the Spanish club confirming an option to buy included in the deal.
The 27-year-old forward joins the La Liga giants as their second major summer signing, after a turbulent two-year spell at Old Trafford marked by inconsistency and off-field criticism.
It’s his second loan departure from United, having spent the latter half of last season at Aston Villa.
Speaking during his presentation in Catalonia, Rashford was excited for the fresh start and praised the ambition of his new club.
“I’m happy to be here, I’m ready to be here,” he said. “There are things I’m looking forward to – living in a new city, in a new league, against new teams.
“I’m focused on this chapter and trying to improve myself and help my team win trophies.”
Rashford also acknowledged his recent struggles but insisted he has regained control of his career.
“Really the thing that I have brought back to my life and the sport is the discipline,” he stated. “I’m in a good place, I’m happy and healthy. Eager to get going.”
Asked about comments from Gary Lineker, who suggested Rashford wasn’t the problem at Manchester United, the England international declined to criticise his former club.
“United has been a big part of not only my career but my life,” Rashford said. “I don’t have anything bad to say about Manchester. I wish them success in the future.”
