Istanbulspor dismiss Osimhen takeover reports

Turkish side Istanbulspor have denied reports linking Victor Osimhen with a potential takeover of the club, stating no official approach has been made.

Speculation had suggested the striker, currently playing for Galatasaray, was planning to invest in the Turkish second-tier side as part of a broader football development project.

Club rejects speculation

As captured by Afrik-Foot, Istanbulspor president Ecmel Faik Sarıalioğlu addressed the rumours directly, making the club’s position clear.

“We’ve seen reports that Osimhen is going to buy Istanbulspor. But as the club president, I can confirm we haven’t received any official confirmation,” he said.

The statement means that, at this stage, there are no negotiations or formal proposals involving the Nigerian forward.

Development vision emerges

The speculation follows comments attributed to Osimhen, in which he outlined ambitions to invest in football development.

The proposed plan reportedly includes acquiring a club in Turkey and establishing a partner team in Nigeria to nurture young talents.

The idea is to create a structured pathway for emerging players, particularly from Nigeria, to transition into European football.

While the concept reflects a long-term vision beyond his playing career, no concrete steps have been taken in relation to Istanbulspor.

For now, the club maintains that the reports remain speculative, with no official engagement from Osimhen or his representatives.
