Isak urged to follow Lookman’s footsteps to address transfer speculation

Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak has been called upon to break his silence over ongoing speculation linking him with a move to Liverpool.
Former Magpies winger Chris Waddle has urged the Swedish forward to publicly clarify his intentions, just like Ademola Lookman, as reports claim Liverpool have tabled a £120 million bid, with a second offer potentially on the way.
Recall Nigerian forward Lookman recently made public his stand on speculation of his exit from Atalanta.
Isak’s absence from Newcastle’s pre-season matches has only fueled rumours of an imminent exit.
Speaking to Flashscore, Waddle said: “Isak never really speaks. Fans would appreciate it if he came forward to clear the air. It’s unsettling, especially with the new season around the corner.”
Newcastle manager Eddie Howe has also acknowledged the uncertainty surrounding the striker’s future, describing it as “difficult for all parties.”
Isak, 25, is regarded as central to Newcastle’s attack and a key part of their ambition to build on last season’s progress.
Waddle believes a short statement from the striker confirming his commitment, or outlining his next steps, would help stabilise the situation.
“Even if he just says, ‘I’m staying this season,’ it would stop the speculation,” Waddle added.
