‎Man’s Post Sparks Buzz

‎The man, identifed as Martin Beck Nworah on Facebook suggested deploying NYSC members in Abuja to defend the nation’s capital followed by corps members serving in Lagos, Port Harcourt, and other state capitals.

He further emphasized that corps members teaching in villages should be excluded from the deployment.

“Start with those serving in Abuja and then deploy other serving in Lagos, Port Harcourt and all the state capitals. Leave those serving and teaching in schools in the villages”, The post reads in part.

It would be recalled that US Embassy in Abuja was closed on March 4, 2026, due to potential protests in the Federal Capital Territory.

The embassy cited concerns over possible demonstrations linked to global tensions involving the US, Israel, and Iran, which could pose safety risks to staff, applicants, and American citizens.

The closure affected visa appointments, but the Consular Sections in Abuja and Lagos remained open. Applicants were advised to check their emails for rescheduled appointments.

Meanwhile , the US Department of State has authorized the departure of non-emergency staff and their families from Abuja due to deteriorating security conditions.
