The management of prominent social media influencer Mukoro Michelle, often known as King Mitchy, confirmed her demise. In an emotional statement posted early Saturday morning, February 28, her team said that she died at Prime Hospital despite medical efforts to stabilise her condition. According to the statement, Mitchy was in severe condition when she was admitted, and physicians did everything they could to save her life.
The statement reads, in part:
“We are terribly saddened to announce that our dear Michelle has died away. Despite the best efforts of the medical experts here in Abuja, we were told her condition was critical, and she could not be revived.”
The management described her as “more than a talent,” saying she was like family, full of life, joy, and dreams. They also asked the public for prayers and understanding, while demanding privacy for her bereaved family.

The conflict heated up as questions were raised regarding her financial sources and business activity.
During the back-and-forth, Mitchy lost access to her company Instagram page and accused her critic of being responsible for its suspension. In an attempt to defend her reputation, she posted what she claimed to be a WhatsApp chat with the Ooni of Ife, Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, in which the king purportedly commended her work.
However, the palace eventually denied the validity of the conversation, leading Mitchy to apologise.
