Intrusive Source of Funds Requested Annoy Online Gamblers

It is relatively easy to start gambling online these days, for all you need is a device to access the internet, a debit card and in a minute or two you could be playing poker, bingo, or casino games, or even placing bets and wagers on any upcoming sporting events.

Whilst there are always risks associated with gambling, many people are aware of them and will look at gambling as a form of entertainment, and one that can occasionally see them winning, but ultimately the odds are against them doing so.

However, what does annoy some people, especially those that gamble responsibly and know when to stop gambling, that being when they are winning and opt to withdraw their winnings, are the enhanced checks many gambling site operators force upon their customers.

There are a set of standard checks that all casino and other gambling site operators are legally required to perform on their newly signed-up customers.

Those checks will see them being required to verify the age, address, and identity of anyone that has just signed up to their sites or apps as a real money customer, and that process is often streamlined with a request being sent out for those customers to send in a copy of their driving licence or passport along with a copy of a recent utility bill.

Once player verification has taken place then deposit and withdrawal restrictions are lifted on those customers accounts, and they can then set forth a fund their accounts and start to gamble.

But what some gaming site operators keep in reserve, which does tend to annoy their winning customers, is then request from them what is known as source of funds requests, when one of those customers is a regular winner.

Sports betting sites are famed for those additional requests, which will see a customer having to provide detailed bank statements showing where and how they acquired the money they have been gambling with at those sites.

Failure to provide that information will see a gambler having their accounts closed, until such a time that they provide the information requested.

Whilst that is a sound and sensible policy to have in place if somebody is depositing and ultimately losing large amounts of cash, betting site operators impose those additional checks on customers who continually win, in the hope they will refuse to provide the information requested and that operator will then be able to close their account, thus losing a customer that is costly to them.

Just be aware that is something you may just experience if you do start to gamble online and regularly win and cash out your winnings, for there really are some shady operators out there who only want their sites frequented by customers that lose, and they will do whatever it takes to stop winning customers accessing their sites.

Should a customer who does win regularly provide the information requested, then another trick some operators will pull is to limit the value of bets those customers can place on sporting events, and the value can be set to just a few pence/cents per bet.

It is not all doom and gloom out there though, for there are plenty of casinos aimed at a UK market that operate online and other gaming sites that do treat their customers, both winning and losing ones properly, and will never do everything in their powers to close the accounts of winning players.

As long as you always set yourself some limits when gambling online or via a mobile device, and keep in mind that you are likely to lose rather than win no matter what you are placing bets and wagers on, then you should have plenty of fun, but sticking to your gambling limits is what any gambler should be doing, and when the fun stops then they should stop playing and call it a day.
