Inter eye Curtis Jones amid Frattesi exit talks

Inter Milan are weighing up a move for Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones as a potential replacement should Davide Frattesi complete a January switch to Nottingham Forest.
Reports in Italy suggest Frattesi is edging closer to a Premier League move before the winter transfer window closes.
The Italy international has struggled for consistent minutes at San Siro this season, starting just once in Serie A amid intense competition in Inter’s midfield ranks.
With interest from Forest gathering pace, Inter are already planning contingencies to avoid being left short-handed in the middle of the park.

Frattesi’s situation at San Siro
Frattesi’s reduced role under Simone Inzaghi has been a key factor in the growing transfer speculation.
The 26-year-old faces competition from established starters such as Nicolo Barella, Hakan Calhanoglu and Henrikh Mkhitaryan, alongside newer options including Petar Sucic, Piotr Zielinski and Andy Diouf.
Despite being a regular for the national team, his lack of starts has prompted talks over a possible exit, with Nottingham Forest emerging as serious suitors.
Inter, however, are unwilling to sanction his departure without securing a suitable replacement first.
Jones emerges as Inter Target
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter have identified Liverpool’s Curtis Jones as their preferred option.
The Serie A club are reportedly considering an initial loan deal with an option to buy, valued at around €40 million.
The report claims Jones has expressed an interest in leaving Anfield in search of more regular playing time, although Liverpool remain cautious about approving a mid-season exit.
The 23-year-old has featured intermittently for the Reds, often competing with a crowded midfield that includes several high-profile signings.
Inter see Jones as a player who could adapt quickly to their system, offering energy, ball-carrying ability and tactical flexibility.
Wider negotiations possible
There is also a suggestion that talks between the two clubs could expand beyond a single deal.
Liverpool are said to be monitoring Inter wing-back Denzel Dumfries, who is currently sidelined through injury, potentially opening the door to broader negotiations.
For now, Frattesi’s future appears central to any movement. If the Italian departs for Forest, Inter’s pursuit of Jones is expected to accelerate, setting up a notable late-window subplot involving clubs from Serie A and the Premier League.
