“Instead of beating your wife, deny her…” – Man shares bold marriage advice to men
A Nigerian man has sparked serious reactions online after sharing what he described as a better alternative to beating a wife during marriage disagreements.
In a viral video shared on X (formerly Twitter), the man, who appeared to be addressing fellow husbands, urged them to avoid physical violence and instead adopt what he described as “two methods” to make their wives apologise.
In his words:
“Men listen carefully, instead of beating your wife use this two method, one, deny her sex, two, don’t eat her food. If she truly love you she will apologize.”
His statement quickly went viral, with many people debating whether his advice truly promotes peace or simply replaces one unhealthy behaviour with another.
While some agreed that avoiding physical abuse is important, others argued that withholding intimacy or food as punishment is still emotional manipulation and not a healthy way to resolve conflict in marriage.
One commentator wrote, “Withholding sex is still punishment.” Another added, “At least he said don’t beat her.”
