Nigerian entertainer, Speed Darlington, has expressed frustration over a disruptive rooster that allegedly deprived him of sleep during a recent visit to Owerri.
The incident, which he shared publicly, highlights his experience while attending an event in the city and staying in accommodation provided by his host.
Accommodation experience raises concern
According to his account, the entertainer was lodged in a room located at the backyard of the property, where he could see fish ponds from his window.
While he noted the setting, he said his primary concern was the persistent crowing of a male chicken that began very early in the morning.
“I went to Owerri for an event, and my host lodged me in a room at the backyard. From the window, I can see fish ponds everywhere, but that’s not even my issue. My problem is this male chicken that has been crowing since 3 a.m., disturbing my sleep.”
Frustration leads to public appeal
He further appealed for assistance, stating his willingness to pay anyone who could resolve the disturbance caused by the animal.
The comment, shared humorously, quickly drew attention online, with many reacting to the unusual complaint.
“I’m ready to pay ₦20k to anyone who can deal with that particular chicken,” he said.
Back in 2022, similar complaints about noise disturbances from animals in residential areas had surfaced on social media, prompting discussions about urban living conditions and the challenges of balancing traditional environments with modern comfort expectations.
