“I’m not married, so I’m a virgin” – Lady explains

A young lady has sparked reactions online after sharing a controversial perspective on what it truly means to be a virgin.
The video, which was shared by @gidi_traffic on X (formerly Twitter), shows the young woman confidently explaining her stance, challenging widely accepted beliefs about virginity and societal expectations placed on women.
Redefining Virginity
In the now-viral clip, the lady argued that the common understanding of virginity is flawed.
According to her, the term originally referred to an unmarried woman, not necessarily someone who has never had sexual relations.
Challenging Societal Norms
She went further to criticize how the concept has evolved over time, claiming it has been shaped in a way that puts pressure on women and makes them feel judged or “tainted.”
Encouragement Message
Rather than focusing on labels, she encouraged women to define themselves on their own terms and not be bound by societal expectations.
In her words: “Many of you may not understand this. However, I am still a virgin. Let me explain. Virgin emanates from the word virgo, which actually meant unwed woman. And then some sick, disgusting man decided to fixate on whether or not women are having sex. Now, if you were wondering, I am not married, which makes me technically a virgin.
Now, the purpose of this video is not so that I can tell everybody about my marital status. It’s so that I can illuminate the fallacies. You can decide who you want to be. These terms that men created to make us feel less, to make us feel tainted, to make us feel insecure, so they can profit from these feelings. We don’t have to hold them anymore. We can release them and we can decide to be whatever the fuck we want to.
So yes, baby, you could be a virgin if you want to. You could be a witch if you want to. You could be rich if you want to.
Empower yourself and release the ideas that they fed you. I love you.”
