A Nigerian woman has sparked widespread debate on social media after announcing her return to her parents’ home, declaring that marriage “did not favour” her.
In a now-viral video shared online, the woman openly criticised her marital experience while encouraging others in similar situations to leave and seek refuge with their families.

Speaking candidly in the clip, the visibly emotional woman said she had chosen peace over staying in what she described as an unfavourable marriage.
“I’m in my parents’ house. Marriage didn’t favour me and Kukuma go my parents’ house.
Thunder fire marriage. See, I’m cooking in my parents’ house. If Marriage didn’t favour you, sweetheart, Kukuma go to your parents’ house. You have parents at home.
Kukuma go to them, they will not reject you. Marriage didn’t favour me. See, I’m cooking beans. Thunder fire.”
Her remarks, delivered while cooking in her parents’ kitchen, quickly gained traction, drawing mixed reactions from Nigerians across social media platforms.

While some users expressed support and empathy, others criticised her generalisation about marriage.
