“I’m crying my eyes out here” — Drama as breakup stunt turns reality

A Nigerian man identified as Andrew has shared a personal relationship experience that has sparked discussion online, after recounting how he finally walked away from what he described as a toxic relationship.

In a detailed account, Andrew explained that his former partner ended their relationship through a long breakup message, concluding with the words: “I don’t think we should go ahead with the relationship because of the reasons I have carefully stated above.”

He said his response was brief and direct. “Kindly delete my pictures, videos, and messages on your phone. I am doing the same. Thank you.”

According to Andrew, his reply triggered an emotional reaction from the woman, who questioned his lack of concern and accused him of deliberately pushing her away.

She also accused him of never loving her and claimed she was crying while he appeared unmoved.

Andrew said he stood by his response and later replied: “You have a right to walk away, but you don’t have the right to police my reaction.” He added that when she said it was over, he responded with “Good riddance.”

Explaining his stance, Andrew admitted he was already exhausted by the relationship and had secretly hoped she would end it.

He claimed they had broken up more than twenty times before, often with him begging her to return.

He alleged that each reconciliation came with new demands, including restrictions on who he could talk to and financial obligations such as buying items for her family and making major lifestyle adjustments.

Andrew described the woman as dramatic, stating that despite being in her late thirties, she behaved immaturely.

He said the list she presented for their traditional marriage made him realise marrying her would be a mistake.

He further revealed that the breakup message was sent immediately after a day they spent together, visiting the movies, beach, and a restaurant.

According to him, she had written the breakup message earlier and only sent it after he left her house.

Andrew said this final incident convinced him to end things permanently, even after she asked to reconcile the next day.

While she claimed she did not mean the breakup, he insisted that he did.
