“I’m a proud Tinubu agent,” Wike declares

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has publicly identified himself as one of the agents of President Bola Tinubu, saying he is proud to work under his administration.

He made the statement while flagging off the construction of the Northern Parkway, a major road project linking Ring Road II to Ring Road III in Abuja.

The event, held on Friday, brought together senior government officials, party stakeholders, and residents of the FCT.

Wike stressed that his role as a minister goes beyond routine governance, describing it as direct service to the president’s mission of rebuilding Nigeria.

“Nigeria inherited serious problems”

According to Wike, the Tinubu administration took office at a time when the country was already struggling with the effects of years of poor governance. He said the depth of these problems requires patience from citizens as the government works through long-term reforms.

He noted that many Nigerians expected immediate solutions, but reminded them that economic and social recovery cannot happen overnight. He urged the public to acknowledge that Tinubu is confronting challenges created over several administrations.

The FCT minister added that part of his duty is to help deliver projects that demonstrate visible progress, citing the road expansion in Abuja as evidence that change is underway.

Proud to serve Tinubu’s agenda

Wike described himself as “a very proud agent” of President Tinubu, a role he said involves executing policies and projects that impact ordinary Nigerians. He maintained that the president has shown commitment to the welfare of citizens through difficult but necessary decisions.

The minister emphasised that his loyalty to the administration is rooted in confidence that Tinubu’s leadership can turn the country around. He assured that those serving under the president are ready to bear the weight of public criticism as long as it leads to national progress.

He further stressed that every member of Tinubu’s team must take responsibility as an “agent of change,” ensuring that campaign promises are translated into action.

Call for citizens’ support

Wike appealed to Nigerians to stand by the government during this period of reforms. He acknowledged frustrations with the state of the economy but urged the public to remain patient, promising that results will soon become evident.

He said the government is focused on infrastructure, security, and social welfare as key pillars for recovery. Projects in the capital city, he explained, are only a fraction of what the administration has planned nationwide.

Wike concluded that true progress will only be possible if citizens and leaders work together, declaring: “We are proud agents of Mr President, and we will not disappoint Nigerians.”
