“I’ll help them fix…” – Frustrated retired police officer vows to join, train terrorists over slavery pension

A retired Nigerian police officer has sparked controversy after threatening to join Boko Haram over unresolved pension issues.
In a viral video circulating on X (formerly Twitter), the officer expressed frustration over what he described as “slavery pensions” for retired personnel, claiming the government has neglected their welfare despite years of service.
Speaking visibly angry, he said:
“If nothing is done about this, I’ll go to the other side and I’ll join Boko Haram. I’ll be helping them to fix their guns and training them.”
He stressed that he is ready to take any measures to make ends meet for himself, including actions that could put himself and others at risk.
Social media users expressed disbelief, while others called for urgent government intervention to address the concerns of retired security personnel.
Many reactions have followed his statement.
One user wrote, “I can understand the frustration, but this is too dangerous say.” Another added, “Imagine saying this over pension issues. Something is seriously wrong in this country.”
