Ilebaye’s father breaks silence following alleged domestic abuse allegations

The father of former Big Brother Naija winner Ilebaye has broken his silence over alleged domestic abuse accusations involving him and his daughter, claiming their relationship changed after she left the reality show.
According to him, the problems started after Ilebaye won the show, as he alleged that she stopped listening to him despite the support he gave her during her stay in the Big Brother house.
“Ilebaye’s issue started after she left the Big Brother house. What led to the incident wasn’t that I didn’t love my daughter, and she is one of my best children.”
“During her time on BBNaija, I contributed a lot and stood by my daughter and made sure people voted for her massively.”
He claimed that after her victory, he noticed changes in her behaviour and repeatedly tried to caution her over the kind of friends she kept and some of her lifestyle choices, but she allegedly refused to listen.
The father further alleged that arguments between them became more intense over time, claiming that Ilebaye would insult him whenever he tried correcting her.
He also accused her of physically attacking him during one of their confrontations.
“One day she took AC anger and hit me with it till blood started gushing out of my body. If I am running after her, instead of her to run away, my daughter will face me as if she wants to beat me.”
He also expressed disappointment over what he described as her refusal to support him financially, recalling an instance where he allegedly asked her for help to travel for a medical check-up in Dubai but was turned down.
In another allegation, he accused her of negatively influencing one of her younger brothers with hard substances, claiming the situation eventually led to the teenager being expelled from school.
