Iheanacho ends six-month goal drought, scores in Celtic win over Dundee

Kelechi Iheanacho ended a 182-day goal drought with a decisive late strike as Celtic claimed a 2-1 victory over Dundee in their league clash at Dens Park.
Celtic took early control of the game, opening the scoring in the ninth minute through Benjamin Nygren, who converted from close range after sustained pressure.
Dundee responded after the break, levelling in the 57th minute when Simon Murray calmly converted from the penalty spot to shift momentum back in favour of the hosts.
With the match finely balanced, Iheanacho was introduced from the bench in a tactical move that proved decisive.

The Nigerian striker capitalised in the 82nd minute, controlling a delivery from Marcelo Saracchi before finishing clinically to restore Celtic’s lead.
The goal marked Iheanacho’s first in over six months, underlining his ability to deliver despite limited opportunities this season.
Late drama and title implications
Dundee’s hopes of a comeback were further dented when Ryan Astley was sent off shortly after conceding, leaving the hosts with 10 men for the closing stages.
Celtic managed the remainder of the game professionally, maintaining possession and seeing out the result to secure maximum points.
The victory narrows the gap on league leaders Heart of Midlothian to three points with six fixtures remaining, keeping Celtic firmly in contention for the title.
For Iheanacho, the goal could represent a turning point in his campaign. Having struggled for regular minutes, the forward now has four goals across all competitions and will look to leverage this form as the season draws to a close.
