“If you vote him again…” – Lady warns Nigerians as she criticises Tinubu’s policies ahead of 2027

A Nigerian lady has sparked debates on social media after speaking strongly about President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and warning citizens ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

In a viral video shared on TikTok, she reminded Nigerians that on the very day Tinubu assumed office in 2023, announcing the removal of fuel subsidy, which she claims affected the country’s economy.

“The very first day Tinubu became president, the day he was inaugurated, he removed fuel subsidy. That was his first decision,” she said.

She explained that fuel subsidy meant the government was covering part of the cost so Nigerians could buy it cheaper.

Once it was removed, fuel prices jumped from about ₦180 per litre to over ₦1,000, triggering a rise in transportation costs and the price of goods.

The lady also talked about the naira-dollar exchange rate, claiming it weakened from around ₦400 to over ₦1,400. She said this worsened the cost of living and made business more difficult.

She questioned whether the subsidy removal led to any visible improvements in infrastructure, security, healthcare or education, which were the justifications given for the policy.

“They said the money will fix roads, improve hospitals, improve security. But people are still struggling. Bandit attacks are still happening. Things are not stable,” she added.

Looking ahead to 2027, she warned Nigerians to be careful when casting their votes.

Her statement quickly divided Nigerians online.

Some agreed with her, others defended the administration, insisting that subsidy removal was a necessary economic reform and that benefits may take time to appear.
