“If you ever felt stupid…” – Lady recounts how date embarrassed her after buying her fried rice and egg

A young lady has sparked reactions online after sharing her shocking experience from a date she went on with a man who later embarrassed her on social media.

In the viral video shared on X (formerly Twitter) by @Ayanfe_Baddo, the lady narrated how a man who invited her out for a meal allegedly humiliated her by recording her while she was eating.

Invited Her Out for a Date 

According to her, the man had invited her out, and upon arriving at the eatery, she ordered fried rice and wanted chicken to go with it.

Chicken Was Too Expensive

However, the man reportedly told her he could not afford chicken and suggested she choose something cheaper.

Settling for Fried Rice and Egg

She explained that the only cheaper option available at the time was egg, which she initially found strange to combine with fried rice.

Despite that, she agreed to it so he would not feel bad about his financial situation.

She also mentioned that beef was available for ₦500, and after asking him, he allowed her to add it to the meal.

Man Starts Recording Her While She Eats

While eating, she noticed the man repeatedly filming her and the food. She said she felt uncomfortable and asked him to stop recording, especially since she believed the meal combination looked awkward in a fancy eatery.

The situation became more surprising when she realized the man had not bought any food for himself and insisted, he was not hungry.

Video Posted Online With ‘Updates’ Caption

Days later, she said she discovered the man had posted the video of her eating on social media with the caption “updates.”

Concerned about how it looked, she messaged him politely asking him to delete the post.

According to her, he ignored the message. Instead, she claimed he later used her voice in a TikTok video and continued sharing the content.

She further alleged that he falsely claimed she had begged him to buy the food because she was hungry and suffering from an ulcer.

Narrating the experience, she said:

“If you have ever felt stupid in this life, just remember that early last month, a friend of mine told me that he wants to take me out. So, I came to the shop so he can take me out. This guy took me to the eatery and I ordered for fried rice, like a portion of fried rice. So I went to take chicken. He told me that he didn’t have money, that I should go for something lower and there was nothing lower at that point because turkey was expensive as well. So he said that, but okay, there was egg actually. So he now told me that I can take egg instead. I was like, which kind of combination is that, fried rice and egg? So he now said, that’s what he can afford at the moment.

“He now said I should take the fried rice and egg. And I said, okay, no probs, because I was like, things are hard these days. And I didn’t want him to feel bad. So, I just collected the egg. So, there was beef actually, they were selling the beef N500. So, I now asked him, can I take beef? He now said I can add the beef. So, when we’re getting it, I told him that, but you know, I did not really pressure you to buy me all these things. You would have told me you don’t have money. We would have just gone to Mama put instead of coming to an eatery to eat fried rice and egg and beef.

“I told him it looks somehow, if you have told me that you don’t have cash on you, I would have agreed to go with you to all these Mama put. At least if we get this kind of thing at Mama put it will not look that bad than coming to a fancy restaurant like this to eat something like this. So he now said there’s nothing somehow about this that is it not money we use and buy. I said no wahala.

“So when I started eating the food, na so this guy brought out cameras, he started making video of me and the fried rice and egg so I told him that he should not make video. All the time I was eating that food, this guy was busy making video. And guess what? This guy did not buy food for himself. I told him that, what about you get food for yourself? And he told me that, no, that he’s not hungry.

“But this guy kept on making video of me with the food. I told him that, guy, don’t make video nah our plate is not looking that okay for you to be making video. I’m just eating fried rice and egg. Why you dey make video?

“So the guy was like, it does not mean, but throughout the time he was making that video, my face was not really that good to get because I was not comfortable with the video he was making because I know who that guy is. Some point, I actually freaked my face. Like I actually like tried smiling with him because it’s not look as if I’m ashamed of the food he bought for me.

“So then, okay, after the whole thing, we went home. Then the next two days, I saw the guy’s post. He posted me on the fried rice and the egg, now captioning it ‘updates’. I was really, really surprised. Like, why did he even post something like that?

“And I entered the DM politely. I told him that, what’s up, guy? Why you keep posting me with fried rice and egg and you’re not captioning it updates? Like what’s update about that thing? That he should remove it now that it’s not making any sense that what if someone that knows me now see that post now? What would the person say?

“Omo this guy did not reply me. What this guy did was, he came on TikTok. He now used my voice to do, I know I know that you hate me. Not only that, this guy actually kept that picture of that fried rice and that egg. I told him not to post that. He brought it to TikTok to embarrass me.

“And this guy kept like, he went ahead to say that I have ulcer. That I was begging him that day that ulcer want to kill me that was what made him to buy me food. That I’m hungry. This guy embarrassed me on TikTok.

“Like a full-grown man, like matured man that is 29 year old. This guy called me all sort of name just because he bought me fried rice and egg. So if you have ever feel stupid in this life, just remember that somebody like that exists. Like a full grown man, somebody’s first son. Somebody elder brother. Just know that somebody like that exists.”
