“If Tinubu can’t lead Nigeria, he should resign” – Doris Ogala fumes over Sowore’s detention

Nollywood actress and politician Doris Ogala has spoken out over the detention of activist and AAC presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore, accusing the government of targeting opposition voices.
Speaking with journalists outside the Federal High Court in Abuja, Ogala reacted to the ongoing legal battle involving Sowore, who was recently remanded at the Kuje Correctional Centre pending a ruling on his application for bail restoration.

Expressing her frustration, the actress claimed she was denied access to the courtroom despite being a member of the African Action Congress (AAC).
“This is supposed to be a Federal High Court for the common masses, where ordinary citizens can have their voices heard, but I came here today and they didn’t allow me in.
“I am the AAC governorship candidate of Abia State. They restricted me, they blocked me. The DSS pointed their guns at me,” she alleged.
Ogala questioned the state of democracy in Nigeria and insisted that citizens deserve better treatment from those in positions of authority.
She further alleged that Sowore was being targeted because of his influence as an opposition figure ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“If we’re in a military regime, they should tell us. If Tinubu is not capable of leading this country, he should resign. Enough is enough.
“You’re oppressing Omoyele Sowore because he’s the strongest opposition we have in Nigeria now. This thing they did will not stop us from contesting. Omoyele Sowore will emerge as the president of this country come 2027,” she added.
Her comments have since sparked reactions online as Nigerians continue to monitor developments surrounding Sowore’s detention and the court’s upcoming ruling on his bail application.
