A Nigerian man has stirred debate online after sharing his strict rules for marriage, insisting that cohabitation is non-negotiable before tying the knot.

The post, published on X (formerly Twitter), quickly went viral as he outlined why living together is essential for him and how it helps him evaluate a partner’s true character.

Cohabitation As A Marriage Test

In the post, he stated, “Cohabitation is a must for me.” He added that he would never marry a woman unless she lived under his roof for six months to one year.

He explained that this period allows him to see the real version of a partner, beyond weekends, visits, or the “dating mask.”

Daily Habits And Personal Standards

The man emphasised the importance of daily routines, noting that sleeping past 7 a.m. is a “hard red flag.” He described laziness as a deal-breaker that could “ruin a home.”

He said living together provides insight into responsibility, discipline, and consistency in everyday life.

Sexual Compatibility And Expectations

The post also addressed sexual compatibility. He said, “I love sex and I expect us to have sex at least twice in a week,” adding that he does not want a partner who frequently says, “I’m not in the mood” or “I don’t feel like.”
