“I won’t be part of it” – Jigan Baba Oja disowns event to honour late Ogogo
Nollywood actor Abimbola Kazeem, popularly known as Jigan Baba Oja, has distanced himself from an upcoming event organised by the TAMPAN Egba Zone to honour late veteran actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo.
The actor raised concerns after his name and photograph appeared on a promotional flyer for the event, saying he was not aware of the programme and had not given his consent to be associated with it.

Jigan Denies Involvement
The event, tagged TAMPAN Egba Zone Artistes Night, is scheduled to hold on August 29, 2026, as part of activities to celebrate the life and legacy of the late Taiwo Hassan.
Several entertainment personalities were listed on the promotional material, with ticket prices reportedly ranging from ₦2,000 to ₦250,000.
However, Jigan took to social media to clarify that he had no connection with the programme.
In a statement to his followers, the actor said:
“I, Abimbola Kazeem, popularly known as JiganbabaOja, have no involvement in the matter currently trending. I do not support, nor will I ever be part of such actions for any reason.”

Jigan also emphasised the importance of protecting the reputation he has built over the years.
He maintained that he would not associate himself with activities simply because they were trending or could generate attention.
The actor urged his fans, family members, associates and well-wishers to disregard any information suggesting that he supports or plans to attend the event.
His clarification has drawn attention online, particularly because his image was prominently featured on the flyer despite his claim that he had no knowledge of the programme.
Event to Honour Late Taiwo Hassan
The TAMPAN Egba Zone event is reportedly being organised to celebrate the life of Taiwo Hassan, whose death recently triggered an outpouring of grief across the Yoruba movie industry.
The late actor was buried in Ilaro, Ogun State, following his death after a battle with cancer.
