“I will…” – Woman displays Tinubu’s gift box in viral video, says it won’t influence her vote

A Nigerian woman has gone viral after revealing that she received a box of food items allegedly distributed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 elections.
In a viral video circulating on X (formerly Twitter), the woman opened the box to show the items inside while insisting that the gifts would not influence her decision at the polls.
According to her, politicians often distribute food and other items to voters, but such gestures should not determine how citizens vote.
In her words, she said:
“I have collected Tinubu’s boxes of gifts. Let me show you what’s inside. I will eat it, but I will still not vote for him.”
The lady went on to explain that the items in the box were essentially funded by taxpayers’ money, stressing that collecting them does not mean she will support the president politically.
She maintained that her vote will be based on what she believes is best for the future of her children and the country.
“It’s my money. I am paying taxes. He cannot use this to take away the future of my children,” she added.
The video has since sparked mixed reactions on social media, with many Nigerians sharing different opinions about politicians distributing food items during election periods.
One user wrote, “Well said. Hunger no suppose control our votes.” Another added, “This is exactly how it should be. They remember the people only during elections.”
