Speaking at an awards ceremony in Dubai on Sunday, the former Real Madrid and Manchester United forward said his passion for the game remains strong and that he is determined to keep playing.

Ronaldo noted that his future destination is secondary to his desire to continue competing at the highest level, stressing that he is open to playing either in Europe or the Middle East.

He also expressed confidence in achieving the 1,000-goal milestone, provided he remains free from serious injuries.

Ronaldo’s brace against Al Akhdoud took his goal count for the year to 40, marking the 14th calendar year in which he has scored over 40 goals.

His most prolific year remains 2013, when he netted 63 goals for club and country.

“My passion is high and I want to continue. It doesn’t matter where I play, whether in the Middle East or Europe

‘I always enjoy playing football and I want to keep going.

‘I will reach the number (1000 goals) for sure, if no injuries,” he said.

In a recent interview, Ronaldo revealed that he believes he is one or two years away from retirement, but his latest comments suggest he is not yet ready to slow down as he continues to chase history.
