“I was wrong…” – VeryDarkMan publicly apologises to Sowore

Social media influencer Martins Vincent Otse aka VeryDarkMan has publicly apologised to human rights activist Omoyele Sowore over his earlier comments questioning how he funds his child’s education and his source of income.
Apology Over Viral Video
In a new video, VeryDarkMan admitted that his previous video questioning Sowore’s financial capacity was wrong and should not have been made.
He specifically apologised for suggesting that Sowore could not afford expensive school fees, adding that the post was based on incomplete information.
Reference to Alleged Income Claims
The activist also referenced claims circulating online that Sowore’s media platform, Sahara Reporters, generates significant revenue, including reports suggesting earnings of about $50,000 monthly.
He further mentioned seeing online estimates placing Sowore’s net worth in millions of dollars, but clarified that his earlier conclusions were mistaken.
Full Withdrawal of Earlier Remarks
According to him, his back-and-forth with Sowore was avoidable, and he now regrets the direction it took.
He said he no longer needed to question Sowore about his finances after reviewing available information.
He also apologised to his supporters and others affected by the controversy, saying he takes responsibility when he is wrong.
In his words: “Alright, so in light of my recent discovery about how Omoyele Sowore makes his money, first things first, I just want to apologize to Omoyele Sowore for the video I made questioning how he could afford that expensive school fees for his child. And I also want to apologize to the people that look up to me and believe in what I do.
This back and forth with Omoyele Sowore, to be very honest, was avoidable, and I’m really, really sorry.
Apparently, I didn’t even know that Omoyele Sowore had previously mentioned in a video on Honest Bunch podcast that Sahara Reporters used to make about $50,000 monthly. I also saw posts claiming his media organization was grossing around that amount, aside from other grants, and that his net worth is estimated at about $10 million.
So I just want to clear the air. I don’t need to question him again about how he makes his money or how he could afford those expenses.
I apologize, and I sincerely apologize. Thank you very much. Peace and love. Don’t play. If you play, you’re going to learn, and you will learn the hard way. I know a lot of you will be surprised that I’m apologizing. You see me like this when I’m wrong, and I will just talk, say, I did wrong. You understand? So you don’t play the air now. Thank you very much. Peace and love. Don’t play…”
