“I was the one who hired her, but my boss…” – Ex-apprentice narrates shocking workplace marriage
An ex-apprentice has shared a surprising experience after his boss advised him to employ a sales girl due to the heavy workload in the shop.
According to him, he was the only apprentice working under his boss, and the workload eventually became overwhelming.
After complaining, his boss suggested he hire help, prompting him to prepare a banner with “Sales Girl Needed” and place it by the roadside.
“I was the only apprentice working under my boss, and the workload became too much for me to handle. I complained to my boss, who advised me to employ a sales girl to help out,” he said.
He explained that four ladies responded to the advert, and he directed them to his boss for interviews, where one was eventually selected.
After months of working together, the sales girl later informed him she needed to travel for her sister’s traditional marriage. The boss approved the request and even gave her ₦5,000.
He added that two days after she travelled, his boss also left for an event in the village.
Shockingly, both returned together, and the boss introduced her as his wife, revealing he had paid her bride price during the trip.
The apprentice said her attitude towards him changed immediately afterward.
“Immediately she got back from their wedding trip, her attitude changed towards me completely,” he added.
