“I was subbed” – Lady shares struggle with men after moving to Lagos for ‘pretty girls privilege’

A young lady has shared the harsh reality of moving to Lagos, believing online hype that “pretty girls make money easily.”
In a viral video shared by @AsakyGRN on X (formerly Twitter), she revealed that she spent her savings on renting an apartment and going out to clubs, hoping men would notice her and give her money, but it didn’t happen.
In her words, she said:
“I came to Lagos thinking I would make money just by being pretty. I rented an apartment, went clubbing, and gave it my all but men ignored me completely.”
She thought within two months she could earn back her rent just by using her looks.
She went clubbing, danced, and tried to attract attention, expecting the so-called “pretty privilege” that everyone online was talking about.
But nothing worked. Men ignored her completely. On the same night, two fair and naturally attractive girls arrived, and suddenly, men flocked to them, giving them bundles of cash.
“That’s when it hit me that I wasn’t the kind of girl Lagos men rewarded for just showing up.”
Struggling to keep up with expenses, she eventually had to move in with a friend because she could no longer afford her apartment.
Many people online reacted to her story. A commentator wrote, “Lagos will teach you in a hard way, women with unbelievable imaginations.” Another said, “The length people take risk is shocking.”
