“I was sentenced to Kirikiri prison for 15 months” – Man recounts guest’s mysterious death in his house
A Nigerian man has recounted how he spent a year and 3 months in Kirikiri prison after a man he accommodated died inside his house.
In a video shared on TikTok, the man explained that he only allowed the deceased to stay with him because he considered him his person, adding that he did not know his parents.

According to him, he was left confused after the man reportedly ended up inside a GT tank in his house.
In his words, he said:
“I was sentenced to Kirikiri prison for a year and a half because I accommodated someone and he died in my house. I don’t know what came into him that landed him inside a GT tank. I don’t know his father and mother. I only helped him because he’s my person.”
The man further recalled how the deceased’s family travelled from Ibadan after his death and reportedly asked the police not to release him.
He explained that he eventually found a way through the situation, expressing gratitude to God for coming through for him despite the difficult experience.
“Thank God we were able to find him inside. The family travelled down from Ibadan and told the policemen not to free me. But I’m grateful God came through for me,” he added.
His account has sparked reactions online, with social media users discussing the unusual circumstances surrounding the man’s death and the consequences faced by his host.
The man’s experience highlights how accommodating someone can sometimes lead to unexpected and difficult consequences.
