“I thought I could pay the bill… then I saw ₦150k” – Lady shares her humiliating restaurant experience

A lady has sparked reactions online after sharing her dramatic dating experience in which a man allegedly insulted her during their outing and left her to face an expensive restaurant bill alone.

The story was shared on Facebook by Fegor Chime, where the lady recounted how a casual outing with a man turned into an awkward and embarrassing moment.

Date Turns Awkward

According to her, the two of them were not officially dating yet but were still in the talking stage when they decided to hang out at a restaurant.

She explained that everything seemed fine at first as they both arrived looking well-dressed and confident before placing their orders.

However, the situation reportedly took an uncomfortable turn when the man suddenly made an insulting remark about her body.

Standing Her Ground

Embarrassed and angered by the comment, she said she immediately confronted him and ordered him to leave the table, threatening to cause a scene if he refused.

She added that she felt confident she could handle the bill if necessary, believing she had enough money in her account.

The Shocking Bill

While she continued eating, she said a waiter began playing the piano near her table, something she later discovered was part of a premium package the man had ordered before leaving.

When the bill finally arrived, she was stunned to see the total amount.

Reflecting on the experience, she wrote:

So i was out with this guy. We aren’t official yet, just ‘vibes and insha’Allah.’ We get to the restaurant, looking sharp, looking expensive. We place our orders. Then, out of nowhere, this man looks at my chestt and decides to become a philosopher of anatomy. He says and I kid you not This one your breastt dey dangle, I hope you have not slept with too much men. My people, my soul left my body. The embarrassment was hitting me in waves. My pride rose up like a volcano. I told him, Oga, if you don’t stand up and leave this table right now, I will shout and you will think the rapturee has started!

He stood up and walked away. In my mind, I was a hero. I was a feminist icon. I said, Mtcheww, even if the bill is 50k, I go pay am! I have 100k in my account. I am a big girl!

I sat back down to finish my food with ‘pride.’ As I was chewing my chicken with dignity, I suddenly heard… Ting-ting-ting. A waiter started playing a piano right at my table. My heart skipped. I said, ‘Sir, please, my head is aching me. Stop the music. Don’t add to my problems.’

I didn’t know the music was already included in the premium ‘Package’ Oga had ordered before he was banishedd. The bill finally arrived. I held the paper with the grace of a CEO. I looked at the total. N150,000. Immediately, my vision went blurry. I was looking at the paper, but I couldn’t see numbers anymore. I was seeing my life flash before my eyes. I was seeing myself in the kitchen, wearing an apron, scrubbing 400 plates.

I started whispering to the waiter, Why did you let the man go? He’s the one that ordered! Why didn’t you hold his shirt? Why did you let him walk away? The waiter was just looking at me. My 100k balance was looking at me. My pride was looking at me.

At this point, my Big Girl energy had evaporated. I was one second away from asking the restaurant if they needed a part-time dancer or a dishwasher. But God is a Nigerian! A gentleman at the next table saw my soul leaving my body and quietly settled the 150k. I didn’t even argue. I didn’t say ‘No, I’ll pay.’ I just took my ‘pride,’ packed it inside my bag, and walked out of that place like a ghost. I was shaking while leaving.

Truth is that me and my friends have pride, yes. We hate disrespectt, yes. But shishi, we don’t have! I learnt and just sharing for fellow single sisters that do not want to settle not to get upset and allow them walk away without paying. I was in my house he called me out only to get me to chasee him out.”
