“I think about Tinubu’s re-election whenever I’m eating or sleeping” — Wike

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has called on the people of Rivers State to support President Bola Tinubu’s bid for re-election in 2027.

Wike made the appeal on Monday during separate town hall meetings with the Rumueme and Apara kingdoms in Obio-Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State.

‘Tinubu has recognised Rivers State’

The former Rivers State governor said residents should look beyond political sentiments and consider what he described as the benefits the state had received from the Tinubu administration.

According to Wike, the Federal Government has embarked on development projects in the state and appointed several Rivers indigenes to strategic positions.

He urged the people to reciprocate what he described as the president’s recognition of Rivers State by voting for him in the 2027 presidential election.

“Let us forget sentiment and vote for the person who has recognised the people of Rivers State with dividends of democracy and with several appointments.”

Wike says re-election is his priority

Wike also disclosed the extent to which Tinubu’s second-term bid has become a major focus for him, saying he thinks about the president’s re-election in his daily activities.

“Each day I sleep, I am thinking about the president’s re-election. When I am eating, I think about the president’s re-election. Everything I am doing now is about the president’s re-election,” Wike said.

‘2027 will be easier than 2023’

The FCT minister expressed confidence that Tinubu’s campaign for a second term would face less difficulty than the president’s 2023 presidential campaign.

“I know the re-election of Tinubu in 2027 will be easier than that of 2023. We should appreciate Tinubu and ensure he gets a massive number of votes. We can do it.”

Wike reiterated that the Tinubu administration had brought development projects to Rivers State and provided opportunities for people from the state through appointments to key government positions.
