I sold limousine gifted to me to buy motorcycles for my pastors — Pastor Adeboye

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has shared an emotional testimony about how he handled expensive gifts during the early days of his ministry.

Speaking at a church thanksgiving service, Pastor Adeboye recalled being shocked when an elderly woman gifted him a Mercedes Benz at a time he was still commuting by bus.

Adeboye limousine “I almost said, ‘Alakoba wo le leyi?’ I hope this one is not trying to get me into trouble,” he said.

Unsure of what to do with the car, the cleric explained that he parked it and avoided using it. However, he later received a divine warning in a dream for rejecting the woman’s generosity.

“Why are you robbing my daughter of her blessing? She sowed a seed, and you are not allowing the seed to germinate,” he quoted God as saying.

Following the instruction, Pastor Adeboye said he handed the car to his late deputy, Pastor Abiodun. Although Abiodun advised him to enjoy the gift himself, he insisted on giving it away.

He revealed that shortly after, he received three more Mercedes Benz cars, an experience he described as astonishing.

While still pondering what to do with the new gifts, Pastor Adeboye said a man arrived at his house around 2:00am in a rare six-door Mercedes limousine, claiming God instructed him to deliver it immediately.

“I said to God, ‘Even if I die and they put me in this car, I will wake up. Will you permit me to sell the car?’” he recalled.

According to him, after praying and receiving approval, he sold the luxury vehicle and used the proceeds to purchase motorcycles for his pastors.

“I remember I sold it and used the money to buy motorcycles for my pastors,” he concluded.
