“I should stop”- Man shares wife’s reaction after attempting to bath their 4-year-old daughter

A Nigerian man has stirred reactions online after sharing how his wife reacted angrily when she caught him trying to bathe their four-year-old daughter.

The story, shared on X by Dammy Esquire, shows the man confused by his wife’s actions and seeking public opinion on whether his wife’s behaviour was justified.

In his word, he wrote:

“This morning something happened in my house that really surprised me. I wanted to bath my little daughter because my wife was busy in the kitchen cooking. Just normal father duties, nothing serious. I carried my daughter and went to the bathroom.”

According to the man, his wife rushed out of the kitchen and commanded him to stop, claiming he had no right to bathe their daughter.

She warned him that if he tried it again, he would face the consequences.

He explained that he was left confused because he had never heard of any law or rule in Nigeria that forbids a father from bathing his daughter, and he wanted to understand if he was missing something culturally or socially.

“She looked at me with very serious eyes and said I should stop immediately. According to her, I have no right to bath our female child and she had warned me about it before.

Honestly, I just stood there confused because I have never heard of any law in Nigeria that says a father cannot bath his own daughter,” he added.
