“I sent her ₦13k’ – Man recounts how a lady he met online vanished after sending a view-once video

A Nigerian man has taken to social media to share how a simple TikTok chat turned into an expensive lesson.

In a viral video shared on X (formerly Twitter) by @mazi_chinonso, he recounted how he met a lady on TikTok and, on the very first day of chatting, she complained that she didn’t have data to continue the conversation.

Trying to be kind, he asked for her number and subscribed data for her, after which they moved the conversation to WhatsApp.

Things, however, moved quickly.

The man, who said he was based in Owerri, asked if she could come to see him. She agreed, but only on the condition that he sent her transport money.

“I asked how much, she said ₦8k. I sent ₦10k,” he recounted.

Shortly after, the lady claimed she had arrived at the park and even sent a ‘view once’ video as proof. Moments later, she asked for an additional ₦3k, bringing the total to ₦13k.

That was the last time he heard from her.

“Till that day till now, she has not replied my messages,” he said.

Many reactions have followed the story online. One commentator wrote, “Anytime ‘transport money’ enters chat, just know you’re in danger.” Another added, “₦13k for lesson no bad, some people paid more.”
